Meta Quest 3 Launches on 10th October, and Pre-Orders are Open Now

The next generation of Meta’s VR headset is less than two weeks away, and you can order yours now.

Previously Oculus Quest, Meta Quest has been providing accessible VR gaming since 2019. The standalone VR headset has been one of the cheapest ways to access virtual reality, and without the need for any wires or connections to a powerful PC, it’s been the best choice for many people looking to try out VR for the first time. We reviewed the Meta Quest 2 and loved it. But it’s soon to be beaten, with Meta Quest 3 just days away.

That extra power does come with a higher price tag, however. The Meta Quest 3 is available in two versions: a 128GB model, retailing for £480/$500, and a 512GB model, which costs £620/$650. Considering a Meta Quest 2 can be picked up for under $350/£300 now, it’s a substantial jump up. And until we’ve had our hands on it ourselves, it’ll be difficult to say whether the price increase is worth it.

However, purchasing a new Meta Quest 3 does net you a copy of Asgard’s Wrath 2, which has a £45/$60 value by itself. And if you’re consideration upgrading from a previous Quest headset, all of your games will be playable in your new headset thanks to backwards compatibility. There’s also a range of new games lined up following the Quest 3’s launch, including LEGO Bricktales VR and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord.
