It’s a series that has had its ups and downs over the years, but yet, we still hold it dear in our hearts. That is why we’re rather happy that a new Need for Speed title looks set to be released before March 2018.
In the prepared comments of an earnings call, EA stated “We’re also excited to have a new Need for Speed title launching in FY18. We’ve given this game an extended development cycle to focus on innovation, and the Need for Speed team is pushing the boundaries of action driving with what we believe is the most exciting and best-looking Need for Speed game we’ve ever produced.”
The last outing in the series, 2015’s simply titled Need for Speed, was a solid effort, though fairly unremarkable. As always though, we look forward to seeing what EA has instore for us with its new release. Hopefully its innovations will be more than just marketing bluster.
