Launching on 23rd January, the PC version of the phenomenal Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now less than a week away. There’s good news for those who like to play on the go, too: while this sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake has an open world and looks visually stunning, it’s been Steam Deck verified, which means it should run on the Valve handheld PC without any troubles.

Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was Steam Deck verified on X, where a video has been posted showing actual Steam Deck gameplay. We have to say, it certainly looks impressive, so if you have a handheld PC, whether it be a Steam Deck, ROG ALLY or something else, you should be good playing it in bed, on the train, wherever.

Of course, the best way to play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be on a powerful PC. The good news is that work has been done to make the game highly scalable. And so, you’ll be able to tweak a number of settings in order to find the best balance between visual fidelity and performance. If your PC is powerful enough, you’ll even be able to to make use of a variety of enhancements that should make the game look better than ever before, and play as up to 120fps.

The video below shows Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at minimum, recommended and ultra presets, so it should give you a good idea of what to expect on your PC. Needless to say, it look phenomenal on ultra, but players should still be in for a good time on minimum settings.
