Running parallel to this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, Play Beyond: Sui Gaming Summit has announced its headline speakers and programming. Play Beyond is dedicated to developers interested in creating on Sui’s innovative smart contract layer, hosted by Mysten Labs, the original contributor to Sui and Sui Foundation.
Play Beyond will kick off with a keynote speed from the CEO of CCP Games, Hilmar Veigar Petursson. CCP Games is an acclaimed development company responsible for bringing the popular MMORPG EVE Online to life – after 20 years, it still boasts over 10 million players. Under the leadership of Petursson, CCP was one of the first gaming companies to embrace web3 technology.
Following Petursson’s opening speech, more panels, talks and partner showcases will follow. a16z Games’ Andrew Chen will talk about fundraising in 2024; CEO of Shrapnel, Mark Long, will talk about how to launch a gaming token; and CEO of Ambrus Studio, Johnson Yeh, will talk about how utilising web3 technology can improve gamer retention. There’s also Sangho Kim, the chief games officer of South Korean gaming company NHN, who previously announced their intentions to build a product on Sui.
