Classic park-building simulator RollerCoaster Tycoon is now available on Xbox and PlayStation with the release of RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe.
Bullfrog’s Theme Park was a firm favourite in the 90s, as was the classic RollerCoaster Tycoon. In recent years, we’ve had a spate of modernised theme park builders: there’s been Planet Coaster and, more recently, Park Beyond. And as great as those modern, shiny games are, sometimes you want to go back to something a bit more simple. Enter RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe, available now on Xbox and PlayStation – with a retail boxed version available on Switch for the first time.
If you have fond memories of the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, you’ll find yourself right at home here. There are 200 rides and attractions to build, from twisty-turny coasters to carousels and pirate ships. Keep your visitors happy and fed with burger stalls, gift shops and more, and make everything pretty with decorations and pathways.
“Whether you’re aiming for the prettiest themed landscape, or care more about building massive and crazy roller coasters, there’s plenty for you to sink your teeth into. Just don’t expect to be able to micro-manage every element of your park, and you shouldn’t be too disappointed.”
We did, however, complain about the game’s performance on Switch, but making its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S should ensure any hiccups have been well and truly ironed out.

Don’t jump into this expecting a modern, in-depth theme park builder, then. For that, head to Planet Coaster. What you will find in RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe is a blast from the past: a simple theme park sim that doesn’t require you to get bogged down in the nitty gritty. This is all about building a park and keeping your visitors happy. What more could you possibly want?
