Last night, Xbox presented its latest Developer Direct showcase, revealing more about a handful of games coming to Xbox consoles, PC and indeed Game Pass throughout the year. There was a world reveal for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, we saw Avowed in action, and more. One of the highlights for us, though, was seeing more of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 in action. We now have a release date, too.
With Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Ninja Theory hopes to deliver a genuine next-generation experience that impresses with its visual fidelity and unnerves you with its stunning audio. It will pick up after the events of the first game and will find Senua on a new quest that delves yet deeper into Norse mythology.
Many elements of the first game will return, including a large focus on combat and puzzles. The combat system is stated to have had a overhaul, however, making it more rewarding and brutal. In any case, we’re very keen to go-hands on and see what it’s like.
A single-player, narrative-driven experience, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be fairly short just like its predecessor. With that in mind, it will retail at just $49.99. Of course, the best way to enjoy it will be via Game Pass, and it will be included in the service on day one.
It’s set to launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC on 21st May. Want to find out more about the game? Check out its Developer Direct showcase below.
