If you’re a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber and you were planning on picking up Tales of Kenzera: Zau later this month, you’re going to be very happy indeed. It’s just been announced that the title will be launching straight into PS Plus, saving you some money.
Developed by Surgent Studios, which was founded by actor Abubakar Salim (Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins), Tales of Kenzera: Zau is an action-packed metroidvania in which players will take control of the titular Zau. After being devastated by the loss of his father, Zau is on a journey to track down Kalunga, the God of Death. He hopes that by making a bargain with him he’ll be able to bring his father back.
By wielding two masks, imbued by the power of the sun and moon respectively, Zau will be able to traverse the mystical realm of Kenzera, overcoming the spirits and obstacles that stand in his way. He’ll be able to learn to new abilities, too, such as being able to glide and make use of a mighty lunar blast. Complete with a soundtrack by award-winning composer Nainita Desai, players are surely in for a treat.
So, if you’re a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, be sure to give Tales of Kenzera: Zau a try when it launches on 23rd April. But even if you’re not a subscriber, with a retail price of just £17.99/$19.99 you might want to pick it up. As well as PS5, it’ll also be available on Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC.
