Sick of Oblivion’s boring old NPCs? One Elder Scrolls fan has shaken things up by inserting Taylor Swift and a handful of other celebrities into Bethesda’s RPG.
IRL Loading Screens, the talent behind these superb real-life Skyrim tips, has released a video which replaces The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s NPCs with real-life celebrities, from Taylor Swift to Kanye West.
Fallout gets a look in too, with a joke about Swift’s allegedly excessive private jet use, and there’s one final cameo from.. well, we won’t spoil it, but if you’ve got a taste for inappropriate humour it’ll give you a chuckle.

There are Taylor Swift mods for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but it appears IRL Loading Screens overlaid the NPCs in question, rather than creating them in-game. Using AI to recreate real people’s voices may be iffy, but it still had us grinning from ear to ear.
The quality of the faces featured in the video also left us hoping that the rumoured Oblivion remaster is actually happening. In some ways, Oblivion is a step back from Morrowind, certainly in terms of the diverse realms featured in the latter. But Oblivion’s NPCs, with their day/night schedules, made the game feel more real. If Bethesda could recreate that in glorious 4K, we’d hurl all our septims at them.
