Web3 gaming ecosystem Tevaera has today announced it has secured $5 million in funding, in a round led by Laser Digital. With a group of prominent investors supporting the funding, this money will allow Tevaera to advance its mission in building an all-in-one gaming ecosystem powered by zkSync’s ZK Stack.
Investors in Tevaera include, amongst others, Hashkey Capital, Fenbushi Capital, Matter Labs, Draper Dragon, Faculty Group, Crypto.com Capital, Cogitent Ventures, Selini Capital, DWF Labs, Morningstar Ventures, DCF God, Momentum6, GBV Capital, Mapleblock Capital, GD10 Capital, Aquanow and Coinswitch.
This marks an important step forward for Tevaera, whose zkSync-powered project is pioneering a game IP-first first approach, which addresses key challenges within the web3 infrastructure.
Jez Mohideen, Laser Digital’s CEO, has said: “Supporting Tevaera in its journey to unlock the next era of web3 games through a comprehensive, one-stop platform is an exciting opportunity. We are confident that this strategic investment will create new opportunities for ZK and on-chain powered gaming.”
In the last 12 months, Tevaera has worked on expanding its community by a considerable amount. It has attracted over 850,000 games to Teva Run, its multiplayer game which integrates Guardian NFTs and its own Teva Market. The company’s co-founders, Robin Babu and Gav Negi, say the support has been “overwhelming”, saying, “This funding not only validates our vision but also empowers us to set a new industry standard for building, launching, and playing multi-genre web3 games.”
Alongside its game-changing funding, Tevaera has today launched a new website redesign, which will now act as a one-stop platform for gamers and developers to fully understand what the Tevaera platform is capable of.
As for its next steps, Tevaera is looking towards launching two new games alongside the first decentralized L3 gaming chain on zkSync, with its ultimate goal being permissionless web3 gaming.
Head of web3 entertainment and media, Rich Kim, at Matter Labs, one of Tevaera’s investors, has said, “Tevaera, one of the first gaming projects on zkSync, is on a mission to unlock the next era of web3 games. They’ve shown remarkable resilience and technical acumen building an EVM compatible, multiplayer framework for onchain games. This funding milestone will only help accelerate their roadmap building a ZK Stack powered, end-to-end gaming ecosystem.”
