If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent a great deal the last year being completely obsessed with Disney Dreamlight Valley. And you might be wondering: what similar games are out there?
We’ve got good news for you! There are plenty of games like Disney Dreamlight Valley out there. This Disney-flavoured farming and life sim borrows elements from many other games, and the genre has been tried-and-tested for many years. So no matter what format you’re playing on, it’s safe to say that there’s likely another game you’ll love just as much as Dreamlight Valley.
If we boil it down, the main elements that make up Disney Dreamlight Valley are crafting, farming, foraging and collecting. Each of the games on this list have some, if not all of those elements, along with their own quirks and features that make them stand out.
And so: if you love Disney Dreamlight Valley, we’re confident you’ll love these games too.
1. Paleo Pines
- Available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC
Replace Donald, Goofy and Merlin with a bunch of dinosaurs, and you’ve got Paleo Pines. This farming/life sim is all about raising and looking after dinosaurs. And while you won’t find any dinos in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there’s a lot of commonalities to be found between these two games. For one, you’ll unlock new areas as you play. And there are plenty of villagers for you to meet, all with tasks for you to complete. You can buy new outfits to dress up your character, too. Setting it apart, though, is the ability to raise your dinos, building a lovely ranch for them to live on.

2. Fae Farm
- Available on PC and Switch
One of the best games like Disney Dreamlight Valley in our opinion, Fae Farm is filled with just as much magic. Moving into a new town, Fae Farm gives you the opportunity to expand and decorate your own home. You’ll also get to know the townsfolk, and get to explore new, magical realms. Does that all sound familiar? There’s plenty here to make it stand out from Dreamlight Valley, too. There are mines to explore, where you’ll discover rare materials. And those materials can be used to craft all kinds of items, which you can either use or sell to earn money. Just like Dreamlight Valley, this is a game that can be played however you want to, and that’s what makes it so special.

3. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Available on Switch
Dreamlight Valley has been described as “Disney Animal Crossing”, and so it should come as no surprise that Animal Cross: New Horizons tops our list of best games like Disney Dreamlight Valley. Setting up life on a new island, you’ll spend your time in Animal Crossing collecting fruit, befriending your neighbours, fishing, gathering shells and decorating the world around you. It doesn’t have quests, per se, but there’s always something to work towards – even if it’s just a new house upgrade.
4. My Time at Sandrock
- Available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC
We don’t think there’s a game more like Disney Dreamlight Valley than My Time at Sandrock. Well, maybe its predecessor, My Time at Portia. Just like Dreamlight Valley, you’ll find yourself arriving in a run-down town, and it’s your job to restore everything to its former glory. You’ll help residents with quests, gather materials, craft new items, and more. There’s some combat thrown into the mix here, too, setting it apart from the crowd a little.

5. Grow: Song of the Evertree
- Available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC
Grow: Song of the Evertree is an overlooked entry into the life sim space, but it’s a fantastic game that deserves its praises to be sung. There are a lot of similarities to Disney Dreamlight Valley here: you need to nurture a town to grow, and get new villages to come live there by building houses and useful facilities. You also need to gather materials by foraging. The quirk is, along with your own village, there are endless different worlds to explore, all with their own wonderful flora and fauna. With quests to complete and quirky characters to meet, there’s a lot to love about Grow: Song of the Evertree
6. Stardew Valley
- Available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch
If Disney Dreamlight Valley was pixelated, it would essentially be Stardew Valley. Well, almost. Stardew Valley’s focus leans more into farming than Dreamlight Valley, but you’ve still got a town to explore, characters to meet, and a charming little life to forge for yourself. The joy of Stardew Valley lies in creating an epic farm exactly how you’d like it. You can also form relationships with your townsfolk, and, if you want, choose one of them to marry. If they want you, of course.
7. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town
- Available on PS4, Switch and PC
Another game that’s like Disney Dreamlight Valley but has a greater emphasis on farming is Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. It’s the usual story here: you’ve been left a farm by an old relative, and it’s your job to get it up and running. Here you’ll be planting seeds and selling crops in order to earn money to expand. You can keep, raise and breed animals, get to know the townsfolk and, if you want, choose one of them to marry eventually. There’s a lot to like here, and just like Dreamlight Valley, you can take everything completely at your own pace.
8. No Place Like Home
- Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC
No Place Like Home is perhaps the most unknown of all the games on this list. Released on PC in March 2022 and more recently onto consoles, it’s set in a near future where humans have completely trashed the earth. It’s your job to clean up their mess and rebuild it. Well, at least a tiny part of it. With your special backpack you can suck up trash, cleaning parts of land to farm on, build structures, and raise animals. Like Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are quests to work through, and plenty of new areas of the world to discover. And lots of weird and wonderful characters to meet, too.
