Everyone loves Lego, unless you happen to be stepping on a brick. So it’s no surprise that you can get a whole host of Lego games and, thanks to the Nintendo Switch, you can take your Lego shenanigans on the go. But just what should you be playing? To help you figure that out, we’ve rounded up the best Lego games on Nintendo Switch.
It used to be that there were just a few Lego games around, the kind that would crop up in bargain bins and nowhere else. But now you can get everything from racing games through to brick-building action-adventures. There’s even a Grand Theft Auto-style open world game to dive into. So, without further ado, here are the best Nintendo Switch Lego games.

1. Lego City Undercover
This is the Lego game we’ve dreamed of for years. Steal… er, borrow cars (since you’re a cop, that’s allowed), swing around the city, punch villains, flee from dinosaurs: Lego City Undercover has it all. It’s loaded with humour and while there are some jokes that only adults will get, it’s a great family game. It’s just as good in split-screen mode, too.

2. Lego Fortnite
A game within a game, Lego Fortnite is, like Fortnite itself, absolutely free. It’s not quite as expansive as Minecraft but just running around in this open-world crafting adventure is fun. But what really dials the game up to eleven is being able to craft your own virtual Lego base and live in it as your tiny minifigure avatar. There’s a lot to do here, and for the grand price of nought, it’s enough to make it one of the best Lego games on Switch.

4. Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 suffered from some technical issues which is one of the reasons why you’re best off tackling the original. There are missions aplenty but running around the open world, visiting Marvel landmarks, is just as much fun. With over 150 characters, villains included, you’ll keep coming back to this superhero-themed outing.

5. Lego Builder’s Journey
We’re still waiting on an official Lego Tetris game but as puzzlers go, Lego Builder’s Journey comes close to scratching that itch. Younger children might find the puzzles too challenging but for everyone else, it’s one of the best Lego games on Switch. Even if you’re not a Lego fan, we’d recommend giving it a go: it always stays on the right side of frustrating. And as satisfying as clearing Tetris’s lines is, completing these tiny dioramas is a real treat.
6. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
It’s Star Wars. It’s Lego. Need we say more? Well, okay, if we must. After a host of other Lego Star Wars games, this is everything we’ve ever wanted from a Lego Star Wars game. More characters than you can shake a lightsaber at, flyable, free-roaming starships, levels from every one of the nine movies (even Rise of Skywalker) and some superb set pieces. What’s not to love?
