Supermassive Games’ VR shooter The Dark Pictures: Switchback didn’t have the best launch. Blurry visuals plagued its initial release, though these were thankfully addressed in a later update. In our eyes, Switchback VR was still missing something, however; once you’d finished its campaign, there’s was very little else to do. Now another update has been released that addresses this issue too. Switchback VR now has a Horde Mode.
All players have to do is make sure that that their install of The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is updated to the latest version. Once that’s done, they can enter Horde Mode for an endless challenge. In Horde Mode, players are tasked with clearing rooms full of enemies – once they’ve completed one, they move onto another a little more challenging. The question is, how many rooms can they complete? It’ll be fun trying time and time again to get just that bit further.
Those who like the rollercoaster aspect of The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR will also be pleased with Horde Mode, as each room is connected by some of the hairiest rides yet. The drops are steeper than ever before, which also means you’ll experience great speed. We hope your stomach is up to it.

And we’ve got bad news for those who instinctively close their eyes as a defense mechanism: those who can’t keep their eyes open when faced with hordes of enemies will open them to find even more have spawned. That’s just evil, Supermassive.
So, if you have a PSVR 2 headset and haven’t picked up The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR yet, there’s never been a better time. And if you do own it but haven’t booted it up for a while, there’s a very good reason to return.
