News The latest Elden Ring update spells bad news for fans of Bloodfiend’s Arm ByRichard Seagrave 4 July 20244 July 2024
Still making your way through Shadow of the Erdtree? Brilliant, isn’t it? If you’re having trouble with the sizeable expansion for Elden Ring, however, it’s potentially about to get even harder, with its latest update fixing some bugs that resulted in certain weapons and abilities being overly effective. And yes; it includes the Bloodfiend’s Arm.
Peruse the patch notes for the latest Elden Ring update, available via the Bandai Namco website, and you’ll discover that the Arcane scaling of the Bloodfiend’s Arm when setting an affinity was higher than intended. Its heavy attack was a little too effective at status build-up, too. Both have now been fixed, leaving the Bloodfiend’s Arm now a little less desirable.
Elsewhere in the patch notes, you’ll also find bug fixes that affect the damage of the Rolling Sparks skill, and both the Lightning Perfume Bottle and the Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle weapons no longer inflict double damage under certain circumstances.
In fact, the majority of the update is bug fixes, although an adjustment to the Carian Sorcery Sword has been made so that it does less base damage but now scales better with Intelligence.
If you’re knee-deep in Elden Ring or Shadow of the Erdtree, we advise you to take a look at the patch notes to see if or how the latest update affects your build. You might be lucky and you’re fine to carry on as you are, but if you are affected, you might want to reconsider your loadout going forward.
