The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

Steam is a great place to find just about any video game you can imagine. And while there are lots of fantastic, high-quality, award-winning AAA games on there, there’s also a lot of… weird stuff. But sometimes, weird is wonderful. And we’ve rounded up some of the most ridiculous games on Steam right here.

By ridiculous games, we don’t just mean bad games. Some of these games are utterly ludicrous in concept, but are an utter delight to play. There’s a good chance you won’t have heard of some of these ridiculous games on Steam, and that’s a travesty in itself. They deserve to be played and celebrated, and that’s where we come in.

Well, some of them deserve to be played and celebrated. Some of them are, admittedly, not all that great — but their outlandish concepts are enough to get our attention. We’ll let you judge for yourselves as you read through our list of utterly ridiculous games on Steam. Enjoy!

1. Doronko Wanko

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

As cute as it is ludicrous, Doronko Wanko is the newest game on this list of ridiculous games on Steam, and absolutely deserves its place. Free to play, it puts you in control of an adorable Pomeranian dog. And your only task is to cause as much mayhem as possible.

Starting with rolling mud all over the house, you’ll quickly advance to knocking over tins of paint, firing paintballs around the house, and generally causing an eye-watering amount of carnage. You’ll rack up a damage value as you go, and the higher your score, the better you’ll do.

It’s adorable, it’s creative, and it’s absolutely ridiculous. And that’s why we love Doronko Wanko so much. (And yeah, about its name: pop it into Google Translate and it literally means ‘mud dog’.)

2. Freedom Finger

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

How about a side-scrolling shooter where you play as a… finger? That’s Freedom Finger, a Steam game that is as enjoyable as it is ridiculous. Packed with a killer soundtrack and some serious voice talent (Nolan North and John DiMaggio, amongst others), there’s a lot to love here. As long as you enjoy ridiculous stuff.

The fully-animated story is a delight, but it’s the shoot ’em up gameplay, where you’re in control of a finger-shaped ship, where Freedom Finger really shines. There are 40 levels to make your way through, each one as delightful and batty as the last.

3. Say No! More

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

We all struggle with boundaries at times — particularly in the workplace. Have you ever wanted to yello “NO!” at your boss when they’ve asked you to do something outside of your job specification? Of course you have. And that’s exactly what Say No! More is about. Saying no. All the time.

It’s done in an utterly hilarious way, though, with comedy being the name of the game here. The word ‘no’ is essentially your weapon: charge up a no, say no in different emotional states, or shout no in different languages. You’ll send people and papers flying, causing chaos simply by saying no. Say No! More is one of the most ridiculous games on Steam, but it’s also quietly brilliant — and a nice reminder that we do all need to say ‘no’ more often, actually.

4. Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

Forget realistic war simulation games. Fighting humans, or tanks, or even mythological beasts in the usual way is old news. Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2 lets you wage war however, and with whatever, you want.

Want to see an army of sentient jugs wage all-out terror on 1,000 ducks? Go for it. Or how about a medieval army against a lone cowboy? That’s fine too.

Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2 is a sandbox-style game that lets you create your own battles, against whoever or whatever you see fit. You can have hundreds of thousands of units in any army making battles as epic and ridiculous as you see fit. Well, as long as your PC can keep up with that much stuff happening on screen.

5. Shower With Your Dad Simulator

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

As the title Shower With Your Dad Simulator may suggest, this is a game all about, uh, showering with your dad. Yup, that’s right: you play as a kid, showering with your dad.

It’s not quite as sordid and twisted as it sounds, however. Picture the scene: you’re a small boy who’s just been enjoying a fun swimming session with his pa in the local public pool. You get out, and it’s time to head into the changing room and grab a shower. Your dad isn’t the only man in there though: there are other dads occupying different showers. You’ve got to make sure you hop into the shower with the right dad, and if you don’t it’s game over. Because showering with your dad is okay, but showering with a random stranger is not.

Despite its ludicrous concept, Shower With Your Dad Simulator is actually a lot of fun. It’s a quick-paced simple game of matching that’s entertaining for a few minutes at a time, and being score-based means you’ve always got a new record to strive towards every time you play.

6. What the Golf?

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

What the Golf? is utterly brilliant — but it’s still one of the most ridiculous games on Steam. In fact, it’s probably due to its ridiculousness that we love it so much. You see, this is an anti-golfing game. It’s golfing… but it’s not. Rather than hitting a golf ball with a club, you might be simply flinging your club down the green. Or yourself. Or maybe you’re flinging a ball at birds, Angry Birds style.

With dozens of levels, daily challenges and a whole lot more, What the Golf? puts a spin on golf in so many wacky different ways. It riffs on popular games like SUPERHOT and Flappy Bird, it challenges you in hilarious and clever ways, and it’ll delight you at every turn. We love it.

7. Roundabout

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

FMV cutscenes with purposefully over the top hammy acting? Gloriously entertaining gameplay that puts you in control of a cartoonised limo that can’t stop spinning in a clockwise direction? That’s Roundabout in a nutshell. Playing as Georgio, a limousine driver, it’s up to you to drive around an open map, collecting passengers to deliver them to their destination.

Every time you pick up a new character, you’re treated to a new full motion video cutscene in glorious B-movie style. And as brilliantly ridiculous as they are, it’s the gameplay where Roundabout really shines. Controlling a spinning limo is actually massive amounts of fun, dodging obstacles along your way but scoring extra points when running over civilians. Oh yeah, Georgio is a badass driver. She doesn’t care about the blood splatter that follows around her spinning limo.

8. Brief Karate Foolish

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

Fed up of female characters in games being the only ones to strip down to their undergarments to wage war against each other? Ladies, this game is for you. Behold, Brief Karate Foolish, a full-motion video game where men wearing naught but underpants fight each other in the street.

Before you rush out to grab it, we’ve not even hold you the best part yet: Brief Karate Foolish is free. Completely free. So nobody has any excuse not to indulge in a little bit of brief-wearing street fighting. For reasons unbeknown to us however, Brief Karate Foolish doesn’t officially support Windows 8 or 10, instead being optimised for Windows 98. Despite being added to Steam in November 2016. We’re not sure if it’s a joke, or just a really old game. Either way, the Very Positive Steam comments seem pretty happy with it.

9. There’s Poop in My Soup

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

Bringing you the wide range of games that we do, GameSpew actually reviewed There’s Poop in My Soup back in March 2016, giving it a respectable 6/10. Well, as respectable a score as a game about pooing on people can possibly get, anyway.

Rather than being a full-on scat simulator however, There’s Poop in My Soup is a much more lighthearted affair, taking the art of producing faecal matter and turning it into a hilarious, family-friendly cartoon style adventure. It features a cast of spaghetti-limbed people, all innocently going about their day, totally oblivious to the fact that someone (you) is about to literally poo on their parade.

Look, playing There’s Poop in My Soup is about the only time you’re ever going to be able to lose control of your bowels after the age of two and get rewarded for it. For that reason alone, it’s got to be worth a look, surely?

10. Kaichu – A Kaiju Dating Sim

The most ridiculous games you can find on Steam

A dating simulator. That’s not so ridiculous, is it? We all want to find love, we all go on dates. Oh… wait. A kaiju dating simulator? Like… Godzilla and stuff? Yeahh, that is a bit weird. But hey: giant monsters deserve love too, right?

In Kaichu: The Kaiju Dating Sim, you take on the role of Gigachu, a giant monster on the lookout for love. You’ll meet six eligible singletons — all also kaiju — and, through dating them in various locations around the world, you’ll hopefully find the love of your life. It’s a zany concept, but we love it. With a gorgeous 2D art style, some truly funny scenes and plenty of romance, what’s not to like?
