Quite honestly, we’re surprised it’s taken this long for The Sims 4 to get unscrupulous landlords. After all, in the real world there’s absolutely no way your Sim would be able to afford to live in the Goth mansion when all they do is paint questionable portraits for a living. But with the arrival of the next expansion pack, The Sims 4: For Rent, your Sims no longer need to buy their own properties.
And, of course, with some Sims being tenants, it also means other sims get to be landlords. Uh-oh. Let’s hope they’re good ones.
The For Rent expansion brings the new location of Tomarang to The Sims 4. It’s a bustling city set against a tropical backdrop. The focus here is on multi-family dwellings – in other words, communal spaces and apartment blocks. It’s a feature that’s been widely requested by the Sims community, and it’s finally here.
Can your Sims live together in harmony, or will you end up living next door to the neighbours from hell? If your choose to be a landlord – or Property Owner, as the expansion calls it – you’ll need to ensure your tenants are kept happy, otherwise you might face a revolt. You’ll have challenges to face, like dealing with insect infestations and mould problems. And we suppose that if a bad cook burns down the kitchen, you’ll have to deal with the aftermath of that too.

There’s a lot to look forward to in For Rent, and we don’t have long to wait: it launches on 7th December on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
