News There’s now a racing mode in Teardown, a game about demolishing buildings ByKim Snaith 19 June 202419 June 2024
When we think of Teardown, a game about, well, tearing down buildings published by Saber Interactive, we definitely don’t think of racing cars. But that’s exactly what you can do in the game’s latest DLC. Entitled Folkrace, it allows players to enjoy a brand new single-player campaign all about completing championship races and participating in the odd demolition derby.
Now, demolition derbies we can understand: it goes quite well with Teardown’s general theme of destroying stuff. And even Folkrace’s standard races looks like they’ll have you trading more than the odd bit of paint. We’re expecting a voxel Burnout, if we’re being honest. Which, let’s face it, sounds fantastic.
You don’t have to wait to try Teardown’s Folkrace DLC, either: it’s available from today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. If you already own the season pass (included with the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game), you can play it at no extra cost. Or for standard edition owners, it’s available as standalone DLC for £6.69/$7.99.
We’re looking forward to jumping into Folkrace, and we’ll have some hands-on impressions coming soon. If it sounds like your sort of thing, give it a try — and watch the trailer below.
