You’ll Be Able to Try Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown For Free This January

It’s been a decade since the last entry in the Prince of Persia series, so it’s safe to say we’re looking forward to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Set for release in January, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown goes back to the series’ roots somewhat, being a 2D action platforming adventure game. It does have 3D graphics and Metroidvania elements to bring it a little up to date, however. Taking place in Mount Qaf, a world inspired by Persian mythology, The Lost Crown puts players in control of a gifted Persian warrior called Sargon. With his advanced abilities and the power to control time, it’s up to him to save the Prince and restore balance to the world.

The good news is that if you’re not fully convinced by what Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has to offer, you’ll be able to try the game for free before it launches. Ubisoft has revealed that a demo for The Last Prince will be available from 11th January. Even better, it will be available on all the formats the game is set to launch on – that’s PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC.

Those who enjoy the demo won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the full game, either. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown officially launches on 18th January – just one week after the demo. And those either picking up the Deluxe Edition of the game or playing via the Ubisoft+ subscription service will be able to jump in 3 days early on 15th January.

Coinciding with the demo announcement, Ubisoft has also just released a new story trailer for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Give it a watch below. And for all those Prince of Persia fans out there, remember that this isn’t the only game in the series currently in development: a remake of The Sands of Time is also in the works.
