Originally set to launch on 4th October, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd has suffered an unfortunate last-minute delay.
Described as a roguelike action brawler, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd will send players on a number of unique adventures, though their stories will ultimately all come together. Developed by Upstream Arcade and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, what’s really neat is that it uses an art style that’s authentic to the original comics by Mike Mignola.
While Hellboy: Web of Wyrd was originally set to launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC on 4th October, it will now release just two weeks later, on 18th October. It’s not been delayed too much, then, but it will allow Upstream Arcade just a bit more time to make sure it’s as good as it possibly can be, and perhaps also give the title a bit more room to breathe in a month chock-full of new releases.
You can watch the old release date trailer for Hellboy: Web of Wyrd below if you want an idea of what it’s all about. The last Hellboy game to release on consoles was 2008’s disappointing Hellboy: Science of Evil, so we’ve high hopes for this one. The character Hellboy has also appeared in fighting games Injustice 2 and Brawlhalla since, though. Also notable is the fact that Hellboy is voiced by none other than the late Lance Riddick in Web of Wyrd.
