Mckenna Grace is no stranger to Ghostbusters, having portrayed Phoebe, the granddaughter of original Ghostbuster Egon Spengler, in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and its sequel, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Recently, Grace, who will soon be seen in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, visited young patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to distribute Ghostbusters-themed hospital gowns.
Grace’s visit was part of a special hospital event hosted at its Seacrest Studios and The Zone, in partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation. Starlight has been on a mission to deliver Ghostbusters-themed gowns to kids in hospitals across the country. The gowns feature a green “slimed” design.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta posted a series of photos to Instagram of Grace meeting with the children at the hospital and presenting them with the special Ghostbusters gowns. The hospital captioned the post: “Lights, camera, action! Thanks to our friends at @starlightchildrensfoundation, actress @mckennagraceful brought some movie magic to our patients this week at Seacrest Studios and The Zone. Patients received special Ghostbusters-themed Starlight hospital gowns and patient activity kits filled with toys to help.”
Now the Kids Can “Answer the Call”
Grace met with the young patients at the hospital and helped to distribute the gowns and activity kits to the kids there. Per Ghostbusters News, the kits were filled with toys and therapeutic items to help fulfill “Starlight’s mission of bringing comfort and smiles to children with serious illnesses. Each gown helps transform a hospital stay into a heroic mission, allowing kids to be a part of the team and ready to answer the call.”
Starlight has partnered with Ghost Corps, Sony Pictures, and Ghostbusters fan franchises for its “Fandom with a Purpose” initiative, which launched in 2021. Since its inception, the cause has raised over $100,000 and has brought Ghostbusters-themed hospital gowns to thousands of young children. The Atlanta event comes after previous gown deliveries by Ghostbusters fan franchises across the country, like the Los Angeles Ghostbusters, Circle City Ghostbusters, Orlando Ghostbusters, Buffalo Ghostbusters, and others. Fan groups were also a part of the first delivery of the new gowns earlier this year at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Long Beach, California.
