The Golden Globes 2026 is about to be legendary as the award ceremony will reportedly feature a tug of war between two iconic actors competing for the title of Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Both Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet have had an iconic year after starring in One Battle After Another and Marty Supreme, respectively. Naturally, both actors have been nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
However, only one of them can win the coveted Golden Globe Award, and the competition is on. DiCaprio is an experienced star, while Chalamet is starting his career as a grandiose actor. Naturally, Leonardo DiCaprio is three awards ahead of Chalamet.
Leonardo DiCaprio is Already Three Awards Ahead of Timothée Chalamet

It feels only recently that Timothée Chalamet had starred in Luca Guadagnino’s 2017 movie, Call Me by Your Name. Being his breakthrough movie, Chalamet went on to star in the 2019 Netflix flick, The King, which solidified him as a serious star to be reckoned with.
Timothée Chalamet received an Oscar nomination for his 2024 film, A Complete Unknown, and also for starring as Elio Perlman in the 2017 film, Call Me by Your Name.
At the start of the year, Chalamet received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Marty Supreme.
On the opposite side, Leonardo DiCaprio, who already has an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for The Revenant, is also nominated in 2026.
DiCaprio has already won the Golden Globe awards thrice (one for The Aviator, the other for The Wolf of Wall Street, and The Revenant). Naturally, the actor has also been nominated for another Golden Globe award for One Battle After Another.
Why Marty Supreme Might Take All the Golden Globes Home

Directed by Josh Safdie and featuring the difference between winning and obsession with winning (similar to Whiplash), Marty Supreme is an iconic movie featuring Chalamet in the lead role of Marty Mauser.
Naturally, it has been quite a while since the world saw a movie about obsession and winning. On the other hand, Paul Thomas Anderson and Leonardo DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another is about guilt, revenge, redemption, and the consequences of the past, themes that fans of PTA are quite familiar with.
Not to say that One Battle After Another is bad in any sort, but Marty Supreme promises a unique premise that hasn’t been seen before in Hollywood. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that Timothée Chalamet and Marty Supreme might just take all the Golden Globes home.
