When exactly can you pre-load Grand Theft Auto 6? Grand Theft Auto 6, the biggest game release in years, is just around the corner. After some sliding release dates, the launch date of November 19 is locked in. We’ll be back on the mean streets of Vice City, living a life of crime and getting up to all sorts of mischief. Pre-loading for Grand Theft Auto 6 will begin on November 12, 2026, for those who have pre-ordered digital versions of the game. Per Rockstar Games’ official statement, they are setting pre-loads this early to ensure that everyone can make sure they can play on launch, on November 19. Where it gets very interesting is that the physical version of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available for sale on November 12. The game does not come on a disc; instead, the physical versions will contain a download code, allowing them to pre-load in a similar fashion to digital purchases. I’m sure that won’t do much to make fans of physical media feel better, since you will still be without your disk, but it at least lets people jump into the game at the same time as those buying the digital version. More importantly, for Rockstar, it gives them the ability to control any leaks or breaches of the game’s street date, as anyone who gets a physical game code early will need to wait for the official preload and then the official launch time to play it anyway.
