MobLand is one of the best new crime dramas around, and is an easy series to get through for those who like to binge-watch good television shows in their spare time. Paramount+, which is owned by Paramount Global, is a popular but still up-and-coming streaming service that was officially launched in 2021. With much of the world still on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paramount+ was able to take advantage of all the television and film enthusiasts sitting at home and immediately started to put out original programming, starting with The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years. Over the past four years, Paramount+ has also rebooted several television shows, including Frasier and iCarly.

One of MobLand’s greatest strengths lies in how the crime drama utilizes violence and death to drive its story forward. The Cast of MobLand Excel On-Screen
MobLand features an excellent ensemble cast made up of A-list Hollywood stars, but Hardy arguably delivers the best performance as Harry. Harry’s main goal is to fix any problems that the Harrigans have to deal with, but Hardy’s character is incredibly complex; Harry undergoes a character transformation throughout MobLand that Hardy executes brilliantly through his acting. Harry, for example, is fiercely loyal to the Harrigans, but as events unravel, he finds his problems and conflicts starting to seep into his professional life. Despite his immoral profession and regular use of violence, Harry is also a relatively calm and resourceful man who operates extremely well under pressure, adding to the character’s complexity and Hardy’s solid acting.
Dame Helen Mirren, the only person to achieve the American and British versions of the Triple Crown of Acting, also commands the camera as Maeve. Just as complex as Harry, Maeve isn’t just Conrad’s wife, but a highly influential and manipulative person who is capable of pulling strings and making tough decisions when necessary. On June 23, it was announced that MobLand was renewed for a second season after the first season’s success. «We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the UK,» said Chris McCarthy, the co-CEO of Paramount+.
MobLand season 2 doesn’t have a release date just yet, but based on how the first season dramatically ended, there’s a general idea of what to expect from the next batch of episodes. Hardy, Mirren, and Brosnan are all expected to return and reprise their roles, as well as other characters like Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine), Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon), and Seraphina Harrigan (Mandeep Dhillon), who are all, as their last name suggests, related and involved in the Harrigan crime family.
