Halo Studios is currently working on remakes of both Halo 2 and Halo 3, if a new leak is to be believed, with both in the early stages of development.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of the first game in the trailblazing shooter series, fully rebuilding the Master Chief’s first outing for modern hardware. It’s due to arrive on both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 later in 2026.
But Halo Studios apparently isn’t stopping with the first game, as a fresh leak has revealed that the following two sequels are also being given the same treatment.
Remakes of Halo 2 and 3 are in early development, leak claims
According to trusted Halo leaker Rebs Gaming, sources close to the studio confirmed to him that the “trilogy of remakes is definitely happening,” and that “active development is underway,” although both are pretty early on.
He went on to say that the Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes aren’t dependent on how Halo: Campaign Evolved performs, and both projects are set in stone. In fact, another source explained that content from the sequels, such as Brutes, will appear in the Combat Evolved remake as a nod to what’s to come.
Although the original game put the series on the map, the two follow-ups are equally beloved. Halo 2 mixed things up by letting us play as both Master Chief and a Covenant Arbiter, while Halo 3 is regarded as one of the best multiplayer games ever made thanks to its Forge map editor.
These two remakes will be limited to just the single-player components, but fans will no doubt love the opportunity to relive the classic campaigns.
