Fans shared homemade cakes shaped like hockey jerseys, hearts, and even scenes inspired by The Cottage episode, expressing their sweet messages about love, acceptance, and healing.

Now, as these cakes went viral among other viewers recovering from the finale, it proved that these cakes aren’t just desserts; they’re love letters to a story that meant a lot to people. It’s their way of celebrating Shane and Ilya, while coping with the goodbye and honoring the show that made them feel seen. 

Crave and HBO Max Confirmed Heated Rivalry Season 2 Return 

Meanwhile, as fans are busy baking their feelings away, even better news arrived. Heated Rivalry has officially been renewed for Season 2 on Crave and HBO Max. The announcement confirmed that Shane and Ilya’s story is far from over and is set to return to wreck us some more after that emotional finale.

Watching our show become an international phenomenon has been extraordinary. We’re profoundly grateful to everyone that has been on this journey with us. Being renewed for a second season so early is a true honor, and we can’t wait to bring you even more of what you love.

Further, HBO Max revealed the renewal in December 2025 with a fun Instagram video featuring stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie opening a gift box containing a hockey puck labeled “Season 2”. The message was clear: the game isn’t over yet. And for Heated Rivalry fans, that was the sweetest win of all.
