IO Interactive revealed they are interested in making more Hitman games in the future, but not soon. Here's everything you know so far.

IO Interactive has made it big with the Hitman franchise and is still going strong. While the developers are currently busy with 007 Fight Light, Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, spoke of their next plans. For the time being, the team is all in for releasing the Hitman co-op title, and then they’d think of preparing Hitman 4. Here’s what Abrak quoted to Variety:
I think we need to get to the other side of this year, and next year you’ll get more news about ‘Hitman’ co-op, because I think co-op is a really, really good extension to the universe, and will introduce very interesting mechanics and combinations in ‘World of Assassination.’ But we will, after that, be talking about the next ‘Hitman’ — because, of course, there’s going to be a next ‘Hitman.’
Hitman has always been IO Interactive’s flagship product, and the hype behind World of Assassination seems to prove people are still down for more assassination adventures.
Hitman 4 Is Real, but It’s Not Coming Soon

IO Interactive is celebrating 25 years of its iconic franchise, and the CEO himself is down for more Hitman titles in the future. However, we cannot expect it to be released anytime soon, because the developers are currently busy with their ongoing projects.
One of the notable ones is Project Fantasy, which is going to be a multiplayer experience, and IO Interactive says it is “extremely ambitious.” Then there’s the World of Assassination franchise, which is still ongoing and racks up a million players on a monthly basis.
But that’s not all, because IO Interactive is busy polishing 007 First Light as well, which is meant to release in Spring of 2026. With all these ongoing projects already, it’s easy to say the developers are too packed to think of Hitman 4. Rest assured, the plans for it remain.

007 First Light has a lot of hype around it, and IO Interactive is surely excited to showcase what they’ve been up to. Lead level designer, Jacob Mikkelsen, stated that Hitman had a sure role when it came to inspiration for 007 First Light, and we can all see the resemblance.
Be it a spy or a hard-boiled assassin, IO Interactive made sure players get every bit of pathway to get creative and reach their target. The goal for the development team has been to keep multiple options for players so that they can seek their own path.
