With the latest Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 24, Dabura’s character arc came to a decisive conclusion. But was it any good? Compared to Gojo’s ending in the original JJK manga, Dabura’s seemed far more refined. In fact, the comparison becomes even more apparent since the two share many similarities.
Both Gojo and Dabura resided at the same power level in their respective generations. Sure, Dabura is from an alien race, but their ideologies and motives strikingly mirror each other. The two equally cared about their close ones. Even their hatred toward the higher-ups aligns. However, as we’ve inched closer to the Modulo ending, Dabura managed to pull off a feat that Gojo wished but couldn’t.
Unlike Gojo, Dabura’s Revolt Saved Someone Close to Him Directly

Gojo long harbored hatred toward the higher-ups. Their oppressive jujutsu infrastructure turned into quite a nuisance for society. Even their ignorant orders, like executing Yuji or exiling Gojo, caused nothing but problems for the entire world and the new generation of sorcerers.
Thus, when Gojo was unsealed from the Prison Realm, he mindlessly massacred each of the jujutsu higher-ups. However, that moment was mostly off-screen, and it didn’t really help/save any of the characters we know directly. Now, in contrast, Dabura’s actions actually paid off.
The higher-ups in Simuria had cast a curse on Dabura’s sister and used her as a bargaining chip to exploit his power. But now, after obtaining the Black Rope from Yuji, he returns to Simuria and frees his sister from the curse. But, of course, he didn’t just stop there.
In a bloodbath, Dabura slaughters all the higher-ups across 7 whole pages in the latest Modulo chapter, which has come off as quite satisfying compared to Gojo’s killing spree. After all, a fully realized revenge against an oppressive society always makes for a thrilling watch, right? Modulo has captured that essence perfectly.
Why Gojo & Dabura Both Stepped Down From Their Positions

Similar to how Dabura overthrew the authority in one sweep and became the new chief of the Deskunte, Gojo also reached a point where he could have become the head of jujutsu society. However, both chose not to. This comes off as another parallel between these OP characters.
The two realized that although demolishing the higher-ups was the necessary call, they did not possess enough political knowledge to run an organization like that. Thus, their decision to step down from their self-earned positions suits their personalities to the same extent.

That said, the fact remains that Gojo’s ending still wasn’t the most satisfying. Also, after going through all that trouble, he gets himself killed in his fight against Sukuna. This led to further dissatisfaction from the fandom. But in Dabura’s case, nothing seems out of place.
Sure, it was a short arc, but from his introduction to the very conclusion, it felt complete. As such, we can say that Dabura’s ending in Modulo is an improved version of Gojo’s narrative in Jujutsu Kaisen. What are your thoughts on it? Let us know below.
