Instantly nerf any enemy. Warframe can be a complicated game, and as a playerbase, we are often guilty of adding yet more complexity to that in an effort to hit the biggest numbers and min/max every aspect of the game. If you are a new player, and you are struggling with some tougher enemies and have heard that the Vastilok can help you, this is all you need to do. The reason the Vastilok is so sought after is that it can be built to easily strip armor. Armor is the most effective form of defense that your enemies will have, reducing the damage that you can do to them. By stripping the armor, usually via elements like Heat or Corrosive, you can then ensure your attacks are doing as much damage as possible. Technically, all you need for this is the Vastilok, which you can get from Baro Ki’Teer if he happens to have it in his inventory when he visits a Relay, and the Shattering Impact mod. The Shattering Impact mod can be gotten by defeating Drakar Butcher Grineer enemies on the Sealab tileset on Earth and Uranus. Now, Shattering Impact works a little differently than the usual modding technique in the game. The reason we want the Vastilok is that it has a high multishot of 9, meaning we can get up to 9 instances of damage per shot. Because it is technically a melee weapon, this cannot be modded any other way, so it is superior to all the other Gunblades. It doesn’t matter how much Impact damage you do, as there is no benefit to big damage numbers, and it doesn’t matter if you actually inflict the Impact status or not. All we need to do is actually shoot it with some Impact damage, and the armor stripping will occur. It should be noted that the armor is also stripped at base level, rather than after scaling, so this is highly effective in the end game against Demolysts and other powerful enemies that can often cause players some trouble when they first arrive in the late-game activities. After that, all you need to do is build some attack speed with something like Fury or Primed Fury, and you are good to go. It really isn’t any more complicated than that, just might just need to shoot something twice to strip all the armor. The build I have shown above is just me experimenting, which is always worth doing. The Magnetic Rush mod gives more attack speed, and the increased Magnetic Damage doesn’t interfere with the armor stripping, as we are not actually trying to cause Impact procs. Then I am experimenting with the Duplicate Arcane to see if I can boost my armor stripping by having critical hits count twice, but you don’t need to worry abotu that if you are a newer player.
