How to Farm Pure Quartz in Palworld 1.0 (Early Locations & Mines)

Securing a steady supply of Pure Quartz is the only way to push your technology tree past the mid-game in Palworld 1.0.

How to Farm Pure Quartz in Palworld 1.0 (Early Locations & Mines)

Palworld 1.0 adjusted the resource distribution across the map, meaning you no longer have to wait until the endgame to start stockpiling Pure Quartz. You can find an accessible patch of sand packed with Quartz, Stone, Sulphur, and Common Ore just northeast of the Mt. Floppy summit. You can reach it easily by following the trail directly north from the Tower of the Free Pal Alliance.

This spot sits in a level 30 zone. Gaining access to this specific node cluster right at level 30 provides a distinct advantage, as it lets you immediately start crafting the mid-game technologies that require Quartz without forcing you to survive the high-level snow biome.

Surviving the Astral Mountains

If you want to pull in hundreds of these crystals at once, you have to head north to the Astral Mountains. Almost all the natural overworld deposits spawn up in the Land of Absolute Zero. It gets dangerously cold up here. You absolutely need cold-resistant clothing or a Fire-type Pal acting as a walking space heater to survive, otherwise the temperature will kill you before the hostile wildlife even notices you.

To actually mine the rocks, a basic wooden pick won’t cut it. You have to craft at least a Green Quality Metal Pickaxe to deal damage to the nodes. I usually just throw out a Digtoise and let its active skill shred the rocks for me instead of wasting my own tool durability.

The most efficient natural farming spot is located at coordinates (-202, 253), sitting east of the Pristine Snowfield and southwest of the Unthawable Lake. You will find a raised rock formation packed with large Pure Quartz deposits. A level 30 or higher Pal usually guards the rock.

Clear the hostile Pal out, drop a Palbox, and assign a few Pals with both the Mining and Transport traits to the new base. They will automatically break the rocks and carry the resources to your storage boxes. Automating this spot completely removes the friction of manual farming in a freezing environment.

Dungeons and Drops

You can also find Quartz nodes inside the dungeons located in the Abandoned Mine Shaft zone, right by the frozen lake west of the Land of Absolute Zero teleporter. Look for a glowing blue gate. If the entrance is blocked by crumbling rocks and overgrown roots, the dungeon is closed.

These instances only stay open for a few in-game hours and take three to six in-game days to respawn. This makes them a decent backup source if your overworld nodes are tapped out, but relying on them as a primary income source is incredibly tedious.

If you prefer combat over mining, you can also get Pure Quartz as raw drops from defeating or catching Astegon, Frostallion Noct, and Jetragon.

The Level 52 Pure Quartz Mine

Reaching level 52 changes the logistics entirely. For five Ancient Technology Points and 100 Pure Quartz, you can build the Pure Quartz Mine directly inside your main base.

Setting up two or three of these stations entirely removes the need to maintain an outpost in the frozen north. Assign high-level miners like Knocklem, Anubis, Digtoise, or Tertroise Primo to the stations, and they will crank out around 500 Quartz every five minutes.

The raw mining interaction speed shifts based on your world difficulty settings, dropping from 7.5 seconds on Easy down to just 2.5 seconds on Hard and Permadeath modes. This speed increase allows for much faster material gains if you run a punishing world state, keeping the late-game crafting economy moving quickly without manual labor.
