Goldenfry fish are one of the more common fish types in Monster Hunter Wilds, and you’ll learn where to find them here. Fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds can be as relaxing as the real-world version, and if you’re looking to find Goldenfry fish, it will remain so. They’re fairly common fish, and if you know where to look and what bait to use, gathering a small aquarium of them is a cinch. Goldenfry fish can be found in the Scarlet Forest, the Iceshard Cliffs, and the Ruins of Wyveria. Their monster guide entry says you can also find them in Oilwell Basin, but I spent a while at the one fishing spot there and came up with nothing. Here are the zones in each map where you can find Goldenfry: Of these, the Scarlet Forest is probably the easiest to find Goldenfry. I was able to snag two or three in a row at the Area 6 Pop-up Campsite. You will want the Golden Bughead bait for the best chance at landing a Goldenfry, and you can only get it by progressing through the fishing quest chain at the Scarlet Forest base camp. The particular quest that gives it is called Seeking the Goldenfish, and it’s midway through the questline. I should also mention that Goldenfry are not unique to a specific type of day or environmental condition. Day or night, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclement are all perfectly doable for catching Goldenfry. You access the Area 6 Campsite via a hole in the vines along the waterway in the zone’s southern edge. The fishing hole is on the way to the campsite itself in a small offshoot passage. Any of the listed locations works. For more on Monster Hunter Wilds, check out our dedicated game page.
