Whether a solo playthrough is more appealing or getting every achievement is greater, there’s always a reason to hunt down the fellow Source-muted scoundrels met aboard ship. Fort Joy and The Hollow Marshes beyond can feel very vast with the dozens of unique NPCs!

There are only six potential companions in Divinity: Original Sin 2, and they are scattered all around Fort Joy in specific spots, but some move around depending on the situation. With all the side missions and throwaway lore to dive into, it’s best to get the companions collected and out of the way. So, here is where to find them all.

While there are six potential companions, you only get to keep up to three at the end of Act One.

Lohse is a human musician who serves as an Enchanter throughout the game. Her best attributes are her intelligence and Constitution. You can find the woman within Fort Joy.

After you wash ashore, you have to walk along the beaches towards the fort. You will inevitably reach the entrance to the grounds. From here, you can either climb the ladder or pass through the Magister guards.

After passing through the guards, Lohse is directly across from the entrance, in front of a statue or shrine that counts as a Waypoint. She will be standing oddly still next to another NPC with candles on the floor.

Beast's (AKA Marcus Miles) Location

Marcus Miles, who also goes by the name of Beast, is surprisingly not an actual beast. Instead, he is a Dwarven Battlemage. He is not within the main Fort Joy area. Instead, he can be found on the beach beside the Fort Joy kitchen.

The best way to find him is to find the crocodiles. On the way to the crocodiles who hold the teleportation gloves, the player will pass Beast standing on a rock.

When in the kitchen located under Fort Joy, continue left of the map until you’re no longer in Fort Joy territory. Beast will be talking out loud to himself near the edge of the water just before the crocodiles and crab. Keep to the water to be sure.

The Red Prince's Location

A prince might sound a bit noble for your ragtag crew. However, The Red Prince has been exiled from his empire for cavorting with demons. So, he’s willing to be a part of your crew as a fighter.

He is the first companion you are able to run into after they escape the boat crash. He stalks the vast sea near the first spawning point in this section of the game.

Directly after fighting the Voidwoken on the beach, continue forward along the water’s edge to quickly spot a red lizard looking out at the horizon on a sharp rock. That is him.

The easiest way to spot him is to keep to the water instead of ing any path. He doesn’t make any noise or change location.

Ifan Ben-Mezd's Location

He, too, is at the entrance to the grounds of Fort Joy. You must walk toward the main grounds and pass the guarded entrance to find him.

Directly past the entrance archway, the player will see a group of NPCs talking tensely in front of them. Ifan is one of these NPCs.

He is the human male defending the elf. This is all located within Fort Joy — right behind Lohse and the Waypoint.

Sebille Kaleran's Location

Sebille is a former slave who was turned into an assassin by her master. Now, she intends to use the skills he taught her against him. She starts out as a rogue.

It’s worth pointing out that Sebille doesn’t appreciate lizards, so if you’re a lizard, it’s harder to recruit her.

She is harder to locate because her time spent in Fort Joy involves hiding behind objects and ing people.

There are two locations where you can find Sebille. The first one is behind a barrel near the kitchen. When inside the kitchen, there are four different ways out. Up the stairs towards the square, to the right past the Arena hatch, to the left, and downward.

Downward is where Sebille is. At first, she can be found directly at that corner behind a barrel. If not, she will be crouching behind a broken boat farther down from the kitchen.

Fane's Location

Unsurprisingly for a master of disguise, he is one of the harder companions to find because he doesn’t look like a companion at all and is hidden within an alcove behind large vines.

At the first spawning point on the beach of Fort Joy, you will want to continue forward until you meet a broken stone bridge and then pass it.

Continue along the side until there are long, glowing vines. You can walk through these to reveal an open space where Fane is kneeling and robed over a body.

Mercenaries' Location

Mercenaries aren’t standard companions. They don’t have distinct personalities or stories. Yet, you can hire them to be part of your party if you have empty slots.

You can hire them starting from Act Two, when Sergeant Zrilla is aboard The Lady Vengeance ship. Just speak with her to hire one.
