The Kitchen Pantry holds blood and items for you to loot, but you’ll need to get past the enemy guarding them before you can enter. Resident Evil Requiem’s enemies range from run-of-the-mill zombies, which are dangerous enough, to bigger baddies like the butcher. The butcher holds the key to the Kitchen Pantry. You’ll definitely make good use of the items inside, but first, that butcher’s gotta go. You might feel bad about having to kill the butcher. Don’t. He’s a nasty undead brute who will happily chop you into bits if he spots you. Killing him causes him to drop the Pantry key, but as you’ll know if you’ve made the mistake of attacking him too early, he takes more than a few shots from Grace’s handguns to go down. Forget about your handguns. Two bullets from Leon’s Requiem handgun will do the job. The trick is finding ammo for it. You’ll start with one bullet. To get more, you’ll need to do a couple of things. First, unlock crafting by progressing through the story. Next, get the Level 1 security bracelet by going to the east wing and taking the stairs up to the second floor. Hang a right at the top and you’ll see a body lying in a doorway. There’s a glowing blue item on its wrist—that’s your security clearance. Once you have that, you can get past Level 1 security doors, many of which contain the crafting resource you need to craft Requiem (12.7×55) ammunition. It only takes two shots with the Requiem to lay the Butcher low. Find him in the west wing where he roams the corridor between the Kitchen and Parlor and put him down. Pick up the Pantry Key he drops, then head into the Kitchen and open the Pantry to loot the buckets of blood and other items it contains.
