While Highguard doesn’t have a huge number of Wardens on offer, what’s there has a surprising amount of depth. The wardens of Highguard are split into different sub-categories, with Una being a primarily defensive character.

What’s nice about Una is that her base defence abilities are particularly strong, without you actually having to do all that much. Her main skills act as a sort of turret, doing a bunch of work while you can hang back and focus on picking off those pesky infiltrators.

Let’s take a look at Una’s abilities and how best to use them.

Passive Power — Helping Hand

First off, let’s talk a bit about Una’s Passive. Every so often, one of her forest spirits will appear next to you and offer you an item. Generally, this item will be a piece of defensive equipment, like Armour.

This can be pretty useful in the gearing-up stage of the game, allowing you to focus on other objectives, like finding ultimate chargers or simply mining as much Vesper as possible.

Often, many players fall into the trap of roaming around the map, opening as many chests as possible and squandering those precious 2 minutes. Instead, focus on getting at least blue rarity guns at the start, and then use the armour offered by your spirit.

Tactical Power — Forest Wisps

Let’s move on to Una’s Tactical. Here you have another form of wisp, but this one has a much larger impact. This ability has 3 charges, allowing you to send out a wisp onto the battlefield. The wisps will stand in place and chuck concussive grenades at enemies within their line of sight.

Because you have 3 charges here, this is a great tool for defence, allowing you to block off certain corridors and surround generators, making it harder for your opponents to infiltrate. Just be careful not to waste the wisps all at once, as this ability has a pretty large cooldown, and the wisps are quite easy to destroy.

Ultimate Power — Tree Walker

And now for the 3rd and final wisp. When you activate Una’s ultimate, she will summon a hulking behemoth onto the battlefield. Unlike previous spirits, the explosives this spirit throws deal far more damage, making this a greater priority for your opponents.

You can use this ability to great effect when defending your Anchor Stone or a generator. Placing the Tree Walker beside an objective acts as area denial, giving you that vital space and time needed to enact a proper defence.

In addition, even when you’re attacking, you can do the same thing when trying to capture an objective, too. So while Una seems like a defensive option, she can also be used to great effect when storming a base. If you don’t rate your gunplayabilities, Una can be a fantastic addition to any team.
