Life-sim adventure Paralives is out in early access on Steam, and you can turn off aging in the game. Doing so will take the realism aspect away to an extent, as you have one less thing to worry about. However, it’s a good choice if you want to play the game purely for fun or want it to be more relaxing.

Thankfully, it’s easy to turn off aging completely.

How to remove aging in Paralives

The opportunity to remove aging appears extremely early when you begin a new save. Once the initiation in the train is done and you’ve created your Para, you need to choose a storyteller.

The early access build offers two different Storytellers. While Maxence is the easy difficulty, the other one provides a bigger challenge. You can pick either (I went with Maxence because my reality is hard enough as it is).

When you finalize the Storyteller, you’ll get the option to customize. Paras age by default in your household, but you can toggle that off. There’s also an option to decide if all non-household Paras age.

You can also decide how long/short the stages of life will be from this menu. These features allow you to have a story experience of your liking. If you decide to go with aging, let’s find out what the different stages are and how they work.

All life stages in Paralives explained

There are eight life stages in Paralives (you can also choose the starting stage when you create your character). Each stage lasts for a specific number of days (depending on how short/long the stage is). Days here represent in-game numbers and not real life.

Stage Short (Days) Normal (Days) Long (Days)
Baby One Three 13
Toddler Two Four 17
Child Five 11 47
Pre-Teen Three Seven 31
Teen Six 13 55
Young Adult 10 21 87
Adult Nine 19 79
Elder Six 13 55

If you decide to disable aging, the Paras in your household might not grow older. However, they can still die, and there are multiple causes. Hence, you can’t actually cheat death (unless you resort to literally using ‘cheats’).
