Unlocking the secret Oblation: Bloodline Exotic Mission after the final Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph update grants access to a love letter to fans. Here’s how it all works. The big community secret that came with the Destiny 2 Monuments of Triumph final update is a new Exotic mission: Oblation: Bloodline. The mission is punishing in its own right, but unlocking it is a relative cakewalk. Here’s the full rundown. The new Exotic Mission, Oblation: Bloodline, is locked behind a short, secret, unmarked questline on the moon. To start the quest, you need to visit one of the new rooms scattered across the moon, locked with Hive Runes. You can find them in: Before you can even start the quest, however, you need one of the Weapons of Sorrow, of which there are four you can use: You can get the Thorn from the Monument to Lost Lights at the Tower, though it costs an Exotic Cipher and 125,000 Glimmer. You’ll need to do a fair bit of grinding if you don’t already have that kind of dosh saved up. Once you do have Thorn (or any other Weapon of Sorrow), you can head to any of the locations listed, though K1 Revelation is the easiest to reach. No matter which you choose, you’ll need to have the Weapon of Sorrow equipped to progress. While you can’t interact with any of the required objects, you will be visiting them again, so I’ll start things off with how to find and access each. To reach the Hive object in the K1 Revelation Lost Sector, make your way through it until you reach the crystal that summons the boss. Don’t activate the boss, though, as that only complicates things. Instead, pull out your Weapon of Sorrow and look for Hive rune discs scattered about the area. To undo the rune locks on the door to the right of the boss arena, you need to shoot the discs with the correct symbols in the correct order. The order is from top to bottom on the door. So, if the top rune on the door looks kind of like a chair, the middle an X, and the bottom an oddly shaped hamburger, that’s the order you need to shoot the discs in. If you get the order wrong or shoot an incorrect disc, the lock will reset, and the discs will change positions. The door will open once you get the order correct, but you won’t be able to interact with the bright green Hive crystal. Instead, it will direct you to reach the top of the Scarlet Keep. To reach the Chamber of Night, head to the northern Hellmouth and enter the caves accessible by traveling underneath the overhang. Take a left at the green-glowing chamber, then a right through the doorway. Keep right until you reach a room with a Hive Barrier Champion, then take the left-hand door through to the Circle of Bones. Hang a right and go through the door with a dead Cabal in front of it, following the line of Cabal corpses through the World’s Grave into the darkened halls of the Chamber of Night. Keep right through the halls until you reach the room where you fight the Nightmare of Ghaul during his Nightmare Hunt. Solve the rune puzzle as before. The Temple of Crota is east of the Anchor of Light zone. You can find the path there just before you reach the large Fallen structure at the area’s rear. Follow the path down and enter the Temple on the left. Keep left as you enter the Temple, as it’s a straight shot to where you need to go. When you encounter a large group of Cabal and Hive fighting, get rid of them and go through the red-hot opening behind where they were. Continue through the tunnels until you come to a bright-red room with Scorpious Turrets, Phalanx, and other enemies. Clear all of them and solve the rune puzzle. The Shrine of Oryx is accessible via a structure in the northern part of Archer’s Line. It’s down a short path cut into the rock face. Proceed through the Shrine until you enter the large, red-lit room. Head to the rear of the room and keep left, again following the trail of Cabal bodies. Pass through the tube tunnels until you reach the Shrine proper, and clear out the enemies that appear. The Hive rune puzzle is a bit more complex in this location, requiring five runes to unlock rather than three. The process is otherwise the same. Time to run The Scarlet Keep Strike, which you can launch from the Moon Destination map. Progress through the Strike until you reach the final boss encounter. Do a little bit of damage to Hashladun, but keep your Weapon of Sorrow handy. As with the doors you unlocked to get directions to the Keep, you will shortly see a set of Hive rune locks on the bars in the back of the arena. The process here is mostly the same. Shoot the Hive discs with the corresponding symbols, but note that order doesn’t matter in this case. So long as you shoot the right ones, the iron bars will lower. Head out the back of the arena and take the first right you come to, then interact with the Hive Crystal you find in the room. Finish off Hashladun for what is likely the thousandth time, and head back to the Moon. When you return to the Moon, if you look at the map, you’ll see four new search areas all over the zone marked Suspicious Syndicate Activity. You’re now looking for dead Cabal enemies that give off the same bright green glow as the Hive crystals you’re investigating. There are four of them, one per region on the Moon. Here’s where you can find them: Interacting with each of these Cabal bodies will activate the Hive crystal in their designated zones, allowing you to interact with them when you reach them and open their locked doors. Each time you interact with a new crystal, you’ll receive a dialog box that will update with each crystal visited. When you reach the fourth and final crystal, you’ll be directed to a signal underneath the bridge heading into the Scarlet Keep. Return to Sorrow’s Harbor and go to the eastern side of the bridge, then drop down to find an opening leading under it. Head through and turn left. At the end of the hall is a door, and with it, you can launch the Oblation: Bloodline Exotic mission. For much more on the game, check out our dedicated Destiny 2 page.
