Dormant Fungal Receptors look like strange blue mushrooms growing near Batterus Lo walls, and if you have no idea what to do with them we understand.
These things won’t activate unless you play connect-the-goo with the right setup. If you’re trying to open a blocked path or unlock access to Wormzilla, here’s how they actually work.
What Dormant Fungal Receptors Do
They’re part of a puzzle tied to powering up Batterus Lo walls on Xephyr. These mushroom-shaped receptors have to be connected to a Fungal Generator using conductive goo. If you link them the right way, they’ll start glowing and the wall will break open.
What You Need
You’ll need the Goo Ingestor upgrade for your Power Hose to even start this puzzle.
To get the Goo Ingestor:
-
Scan a Ferro Goo plant to mark the two parts on your map
-
Find one part in Pillars of Turpitude
-
Find the second part in Deadwood Gulch
-
Use your 3D Printer to craft the upgrade with Aluminum, Carbon, and Silicon
Once installed, your Power Hose can now spray conductive goo.
How to Activate the Receptors
-
Find the Ferro Dispenser near the platform with the wall puzzle
-
Interact with it to fill your Power Hose with purple Ferro Goo
-
Spray the goo from the Fungal Generator (large glowing mushroom) to the nearby Dormant Fungal Receptors
Each receptor is attached to a root that runs back to the wall. Follow the root and draw a goo path to complete the circuit.
-
The first receptor is near the center, easy to reach
-
The second is to the left, behind a large stone pillar
-
The third is higher up on a cliff wall; go refill your goo, climb up, and draw a vertical path
Once all three receptors are glowing, the Batterus Lo wall will collapse, revealing the path forward.
Final Blurb
Dormant Fungal Receptors might look like weird scenery, but they’re key to opening major routes. Just unlock the Goo Ingestor, find a Ferro Dispenser, and draw the lines like you’re playing alien plumber. Once it’s all glowing, you’re good to go.
