How to use Modules in NTE

To use Modules in NTE you need to access them via the ‘Console’ option in the ‘Character’ menu. You can get here easily by accessing the ‘Character’ icon on your in-game phone.

When you’ve opened the ‘Console’ menu, use the indicated command to switch tabs to the ‘Module’ menu. Here, you’ll be able to see the current Modules you have that can be applied to the character you’ve chosen.

Now, all Modules will have ATK and HP boosts, meaning they can theoretically be shared between every character. However, the sub-attributes of a Module can determine which characters are the best fit for them as some will get bonus stats from specific Modules.

When you first start out, the easiest thing to do is to use the ‘Auto Equip’ function beneath the Module list. This will automatically apply your best Modules for the character at the time and you can see the boosts from them on the right side of your screen.

I highly recommend using this feature until you’re comfortable with how Modules and Cartridges work as this will give you a solid foundation for future builds, as well as helping you get a strong starting team.

However, once you’re more comfortable with experimenting with them you can dive deeper into Modules and equip them yourself. You can simply do this by selecting an unequipped Module from the menu and finding a space for it on the console screen, then clicking and dragging it into the right spot. Think of it a bit like Tetris, the shapes have to fit in a space for them to work.

Remember, the stat breakdown on the right side of your screen will tell you how the Modules you’ve equipped will impact the character you’ve applied them to!

Cartridge and Module Sets

If you want to go one step further with your Modules, then you can apply specific ones to match a Cartridge to create a ‘Set’. This in turn will unlock extra bonuses depending on the Set you’ve created.

Each Cartridge has a specific set of Modules you need to apply with it in order to activate the Set bonuses. This is typically two to four Modules, with two unlocking a lower level stat boost and all four giving significant bonuses.

Also, once you’ve added the required Modules for a set, you can continue to add more if you’ve got the space. You’ll get the bonuses as long as you’ve matched the required Modules for the Set.

You can figure out which Modules your current Cartridge needs for a set by using the indicated command next to ‘Recommended’ on the right side of your screen. At the top of the pop-up menu that appears here are ‘Set’ recommendations that you can follow.

How to get Modules in NTE

You can get Modules in NTE by spending Carrota in Rewind, which can be accessed via the ‘Console’ option on the ‘Character’ menu. When you’re here, select the indicated command in the lower left corner of your screen to enter Rewind.

Rewind is a passive mini-game that’s split into three levels: Easy, Normal and Hard. The higher the level, the better the rewards but you’ll need to pay a different amount and type of Carrota depending on the level you choose.

Here’s a quick rundown of the Rewind Levels, the Modules you can pull and Carrota type:

Rewind Level Modules Pulled Carrota Type
Easy Blue Modules Bronze
Normal Purple Modules Silver
Hard Orange Modules Gold

The Easy level in Rewind will reward you with Blue Modules from a full shape pool. This means that you can pull any Blue Module from the ones available in NTE and are chosen at random. You’ll have an equal chance for pulling each Module in this pool.

However, Normal and Hard modes both will reward you with the appropriate coloured Modules from a Custom Pool. You’ll need to choose specific Modules you want to add to the Custom Pool before you start either of these modes and the Modules you’ll gain from a pool will be selected randomly from your choices here. From a Custom Pool you’ll have a 12.5% draw rate.

When you’ve completed a Rewind you’ll be shown the reward Module you’ve obtained from that pull. Here you’ll be able to see which type it is, the Module’s Main Attributes and its unique Sub Attributes. It’ll then be added to your inventory for you to use as and when you’d like to.

Where can you get Carrota in NTE?

You can obtain Carrota in NTE through the Rabbit Hole Anomaly Zone in the New Herland District. Visiting this Anomaly Zone and undertaking the challenges within it will reward you with the different types of Carrota needed for Rewind.

Module Tiers

Modules come in three tiers at the time of writing: B, A and S Tier (Blue, Purple and Gold). The better the rarity the higher the stat boosts.Of course, the Gold ones are the best ones but they’re also the hardest to get your hands on and you can get some strong builds by using the lower two tiers when you’re starting out.
