Add Us On Here is a fact-based summary of the story contents:

Toho’s excellent library of kaiju gives the Monsterverse plenty of worthy candidates for a potential SpaceGodzilla ally in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. Thanks to a directory created for Godzilla and Kong’s next movie by the Writer’s Guild of America, there’s little doubt remaining that SpaceGodzilla is about to make his Monsterverse debut.

Presumably, SpaceGodzilla’s role will be that of the main villain. However, that’s not to say he’ll be the only threat. Not only would have had to challenge both the King of the Monsters and another alpha Titan in the form of Kong, but it makes sense that he’d also have to do battle with Shimo, who has since aligned herself with the new Hollow Earth ruler.

Given the way the odds are currently stacked, it makes sense that the Monsterverse will ensure that SpaceGodzilla has some Titan help of his own.

Gigan Is The Ideal Partner For SpaceGodzilla In Godzilla x Kong: Supernova

The Monsterverse has a handful of available villain options when it comes to giving SpaceGodzilla a Toho ally, including Biollante, Orga, Gigan, Megaguirus, Mechani-Kong, Titanosaurus, and Megalon. The latter four would be interesting Monsterverse additions, but don’t feel imposing enough to adequately challenge Godzilla and Kong, nor would they be a thematic fit for a story about an extraterrestrial threat.

Orga and Biollante, on the other hand, would make some degree of sense and could translate well to the Monsterverse. But, the concepts behind these monsters may be too close to SpaceGodzilla to make either feel unique. Both creatures, like SpaceGodzilla, were born from Godzilla’s DNA.

That leaves Gigan as the most appealing candidate, given that he checks all the right boxes. As an organic monster with cyborg parts, Gigan is fundamentally different from SpaceGodzilla, but could still tie in with his story via his extraterrestrial connections. Like the Monsterverse’s Ghidorah, he could be a Titan from a distant planet who came to Earth, whether it be in the past or the present.

What’s more, Gigan would make for a formidable adversary for both Godzilla and Kong. It’s important to note that Gigan achieved the major feat of becoming the first monster ever to make Godzilla bleed in Godzilla vs. Gigan, when he delivered to the King of the Monsters one of the worst beatdowns in the history of the franchise.

What Could Happen If Gigan Joins Forces With SpaceGodzilla

Gigan’s bladed weapons gave Godzilla trouble in both Godzilla vs. Gigan and Godzilla vs. Megalon, and based on how the MUTOs and Kong’s axe have found success in hurting him, it’s not hard to imagine Gigan posing a similar problem for him were they to clash in the Monsterverse.

Alternatively, Gigan could serve as Kong’s primary opponent while Godzilla. With an arsenal of weapons at his disposal, Gigan could force Kong to make use of his greatest asset: his intelligence. Beating Gigan could take more than brute strength, as figuring out how to counter and avoid his blades could be the key to surviving a battle with the cyborg villain.

If the Monsterverse heads in this direction, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova could have the perfect tag team to fight the two alpha Titans when they return to the big screen.
