Marvel Rivals fans that have only recently jumped on board the game may not know this, but there was a point at which Doctor Strange was considered not just the best Vanguard in the game, but one of the best characters overall. Back during the beta and Season 0, he was an absolute menace, but over the months since release, Strange has been scaled back further and further.
ing some nerfs in the Season 2 balance update, which targeted the character’s damage output, Doctor Strange is now a shadow of his former self. Almost every balance update has seen him tweaked and nerfed in some way, and Strange fans are starting to get a little bit sick of it.
Marvel Rivals Fans Aren't Happy With The Constant Doctor Strange Nerfs
One such fan is Reddit user Such-Bowler-3517, who claimed that Doctor Strange mains are the «most abused» people whenever patch notes are released, and it’s a little hard to disagree. Replies to this user’s post are primarily filled with people complaining about how lackluster Doctor Strange feels now, especially now that his damage output has dropped.
One user says they think NetEase «overtuned this nerf», and explained that they were struggling to take out a Peni Parker nest with Strange’s primary fire. One user describes playing as Strange as «shooting blanks», while another says the character has now been relegated to «a shield bot». It doesn’t even seem to matter that he has a team-up with Scarlet Witch either — in fact, some are saying it’s the only way he’s really playable.
Unfortunately, if NetEase is looking at these Strange nerfs and thinks that they’ve overdone it a bit, we may be waiting a little while before anything is done about it. There’s a possibility we could see him tweaked in a hotfix, but we’re probably going to have to wait until Season 2.5 for any major changes. Oh well, at least Emma Frost is fun to play.
