Infinity Nikki is one of the biggest free-to-play games of all time with the open-world fashion game quickly nabbing millions of players with its unique, cosy charm. Currently available on PC, PlayStation 5 and mobile, the game is continuously evolving with heaps of new content.
In an interview with VideoGamer just after the release of the controversial 1.5 update, Infinity Nikki developer InFold discussed the future of the open world game. As the team continues to balance monetisation, new content and improve performance, there’s a tonne of work going into keeping the game going.
10 Years of Infinity Nikki
InFold’s popular open-world fashion game is just one entry in the Nikki franchise. Love Nikki, the first entry in the series, has been going for ten years with new updates still coming to the title as we speak.
Infinity Nikki is a far more complex beast with an open-world, multiplayer co-op, insanely intricate outfits and huge features such as housing and housing customisation on the way. However, the team hopes that the game will also still be evolving ten years from release, just like the original game.
“We plan to keep Infinity Nikki thriving for the long haul,” InFold told VideoGamer. “It’s hard to say exactly what Miraland will look like ten years from now, but we know Nikki’s journey will have grown even richer.”
InFold teased that the future of Infinity Nikki will continue to add more stories for players to enjoy, as well as more outfits. However, by the time we reach the tenth anniversary of the open-world game, the developer’s tease that more reality-bending narratives may be introduced.
“More stories will have unfolded. More mysteries will have been revealed,” InFold said. “And who knows—maybe her adventures will start blending with our own world in ways we haven’t imagined yet.”
“As technology evolves, so will the possibilities,” the developer continued. “But one thing we’re sure of: we’ll continue building this world with care, creativity, and love for the players who’ve joined us on this magical ride.”
Infinity Nikki Version 1.6 is currently scheduled to release on June 12, 2025, adding more outfits, story content and limited-time events to the open-world game.
