Infinity Nikki launched to incredible success, but it hasn’t been all smooth sailing since release. Launching on PC, mobile and console-exclusively on PS5, the stunning open-world fashion game has suffered from performance issues, bugs and monetisation controversies that continue to this day.
Nevertheless, InFold’s free-to-play open-world game does offer an experience unlike any other, although there’s been very little conversation regarding future monetisation plans. In an interview with VideoGamer, the team refused to touch on monetisation at all, but did reveal a desire to bring the game to more platforms in the future.
Could Infinty Nikki come to Nintendo Switch 2?
Speaking to VideoGamer after the release of the controversial 1.5 update—which introduced outfits that required more gacha pulls to complete and other annoyances—the team at InFold discussed potential plans to bring their game to more platforms.
At the time of writing, Infinity Nikki is still under a six-month exclusivity contract for PlayStation which forbids the game from launching on other consoles until six months after release. However, the team is far more focused on fixing the performance issues that are plaguing the mobile, PC and PS5 versions of the game before releasing more ports they’d have to juggle.
“Right now, our attention is on refining an enriching the platforms where the game is already live.”

Nevertheless, InFold claimed that “new platforms is [sic] definitely part of out future—but only once we feel confident the foundation is strong and the experience is truly seamless”. The studio admitted that performance is not in a suitable place where the team can release a Nintendo Switch 2 port, claiming that the player experience on current platforms is more important right now.
“Our multi-platform strategy always starts with one goal: to ensure that the player experience comes first,” the studio said in a statement to VideoGamer. “Right now, our attention is on refining an enriching the platforms where the game is already live—improving performance, fixing bugs and rolling out meaningful content updates”.
InFold explained that all platforms should be “getting the best version of Infinity Nikki possible”, which currently isn’t the case. Most major updates on PS5 come alongside returning performance issues in gacha menus and outfit changes, and there are still key bugs to fix that prove difficult to eliminate.
However, in the future, expect Infinity Nikki to be available on more platforms. After all, if the game can technically run on mobile—no matter how garish that experience is—why wouldn’t a Switch 2 version be possible?
