Yes, and it's bright green!
Shiny Weedle is available in Pokémon Go!
Released in June 2020, shiny Weedle has been available in Pokémon Go a very long time, which means shiny Beedrill can be collected too.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at what shiny Weedle look like and Weedle’s perfect IV stats in Pokémon Go.

Is Weedle shiny in Pokémon Go?
Yes, Weedle can be shiny in Pokémon Go. Shiny Weedle was released in June 2020 at the start of Weedle Community Day. Its evolution, shiny Beedrill, was released alongside it, which means shiny Mega Beedrill is in the game, too!
Because Weedle had a Community Day and has been in events like Go Tours, it is a pretty common shiny. If you’re missing one, there’s a good chance that one of your high-level friends can trade you one!
What does shiny Weedle look like?
Shiny Weedle is unfortunately just a sun-bleached Weedle. It’s yellow instead of tan, and its feet and nose are pink instead of reddish purple. It’s subtle and far from one of our favourites.
Shiny Kakuna is somehow worse, losing its awesome yellow for a shade of acid green that sets up the rest of the evolution line. Shiny Beedrill is green and grey instead of yellow and black, and its eyes swap from reddish pink to blue. It somehow looks more terrifying, but we prefer the overall feel of regular Beedrill, which was clearly based on the giant Asian hornet.
Mega Beedrill is basically Beedrill but more so, and the same goes for shiny Mega Beedrill, as you can see below.

Shiny Weedle encounter rates
The shiny encounter rates for Weedle in Pokémon Go depend on the method you’re using to obtain it. If it’s a Go Pass encounter, then you’ll be working with either the base shiny rate or the slightly boosted one for uncommon Pokémon. According to the Pokémon Go wiki, the base rate is estimated to be 1/512 (+0.2%) and the uncommon rate is 1/128 (+0/8%).

How to get shiny Weedle and perfect IV stats

Whether you can find Weedle in the wild depends on the season — the in-game event season that is — and what is spawning. If you’re lucky, a one-off event such a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour may feature Weedle, giving you a chance to go shiny hunting. That said, unless those events specifically state that you can get a shiny Weedle, you’re just going to have to rely on dumb luck.
This means walking and clicking on every Weedle you see. The average shiny rate for a non-boosted Pokémon is around 1/500, meaning that for every 500 Weedle you see, one is probably going to be shiny. If you check your Pokédex and seen you have 499 encounters, however, that doesn’t mean your next one is a guaranteed shiny — that’s not how maths works.
Good luck if you’re trying for a shiny — that’s a lot of Pokémon to check!
November is here, so it’s time to learn the event and raid schedule. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don’t forget to learn about the new Level Cap, try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you’re hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
Weedle 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go
When talking about a Weedle with 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go, you’re looking for one with 15/15/15 stats to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and the Master League.
If you’re looking in the wild and are at least Level 30 (or above), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Weedle:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) — 391 CP
- Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum — 423 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we’ve kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you’re currently below Level 30.

Best of luck hunting down shiny Weedle!
