The moment happened during a livestream, where the fan referenced a meme from Speed’s early streams before explaining his situation and asking for help.
Speed pays for fan’s new phone
On Speed’s April 28 Twitch livestream, a fan approached him and his security at Saint Lucia Cruise Port.
“Speed, my mom’s kinda homeless,” the boy said, getting Speed’s attention before adding, “She could only buy me a Nokia.”
After showing the streamer his phone, Speed responded, “Deadass? Only a Nokia?”, prompting the boy to ask, “Can you buy me a new phone?”
“You know what, yeah, bro,” Speed replied, before questioning whether the story was genuine. “Are you being deadass? Don’t lie to me, bro.”

“I’m not lying to you, I swear. I swear on god. You can even call my mom on it,” the boy said, though he wasn’t able to reach her when trying to prove it.
Getting his team to hand him cash, Speed ultimately decided to give the boy money for a new phone, anyway. “Listen, brother, this is enough for you to buy a new phone,” he said, with the fan breaking down in tears and hugging him after receiving the money.
After the exchange, Speed explained his decision to viewers, saying: “I couldn’t not, chat. He still had a Nokia, bro. That sh*t kinda made me sad, bro.”
