A kebab store owner in Japan has gone viral after teaming up with an anime girl food vlogger to promote their fast-food restaurant, and fans are absolutely loving it.

Moses Kebab is a fast-food store in Tokyo, Japan, specialising in chicken and beef doner kebabs. While this all sounds like pretty standard stuff for a fast-food joint, the owner has been getting a lot of attention online thanks to their unexpected collab with a Japanese food vlogger.

On May 5, posts showing a cardboard cutout of the kebab store owner standing next to an anime girl started to go viral.

“Peak. The fact that she makes a heart gesture, but he is giving thumbs up instead, is literally the cherry on top. Weebs should know that meme,” wrote one fan. “The fact he’s not even doing the heart gesture with her is so f*cking funny, added another.

The anime girl in question is actually Kizetsu-chan, a popular Japanese food vlogger, who is known for uploading delicious places to eat in Japan on her YouTube channel.

“I absolutely love Moses’s kebabs in Akihabara, and I’m collaborating with him until May 10! Highly recommended,” wrote Kizetsu-chan. “The collab is ending soon, but if you’re in Akihabara, you should definitely give it a try!”

Meanwhile, the owner of the Moses Kebabs also has a claim to fame. Moses, who the restaurant is named after, is a fairly well-known figure in Tokyo’s fast-food scene, as he was the first person to bring kebabs to Japan.

Because of this, the kebab shop continues to be a popular place for diners to duck into and grab a quick bite. In fact, posts online often show huge queues, and I imagine the recent collab will make this foodie hotspot even more popular.

Moses’ Kebabs is located just a one-minute walk from the Electric Town Exit of JR Akihabara Station, and is open 24 hours a day.

While this collab might have turned heads, it’s not the only anime-themed crossover that has gone viral this year. Richard Hammond of Top Gear and Grand Tour fame made headlines after driving an anime girl racing car.
