Joe Rogan may have helped inspire a future MrBeast project after the pair spent a large portion of a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience workshopping a zombie survival competition.

The conversation began after Rogan pitched the idea of dropping contestants into an abandoned city where they would have to survive against waves of zombies, before quickly evolving into a detailed discussion about gameplay mechanics, production, casting, and prize money.

As the concept became more elaborate, MrBeast admitted he was already thinking about making it happen.

“I’m fighting the urge to go call my team,” he said. “Bro, I’m sold. I just got to find an abandoned city.”

Rogan‘s original idea centered around contestants spending their days gathering supplies, completing challenges, and preparing defenses before zombies emerged after dark.

MrBeast quickly began building on the concept, suggesting it could cost between $5 million and $10 million to produce by transforming an abandoned city into a post-apocalyptic setting.

He also proposed increasing the prize pool each day contestants survived, while requiring them to complete daily objectives that would make the nights even more intense.

The pair went on to brainstorm a range of ideas, including casting former Navy SEALs, survival experts, and martial artists as contestants, while discussing the possibility of eliminated players returning as zombies.

Rogan also suggested gameplay mechanics, including glowing red zombie eyes, limited flashlight batteries, and forcing contestants to hide throughout the abandoned city after sunset.

As the conversation continued, MrBeast became increasingly enthusiastic about the idea.

“I’m more inspired than ever. I think it’s very doable,” he said.

Near the end of the discussion, he even joked that a streaming service could bankroll the ambitious production.

While MrBeast didn’t announce that the project is officially in development, the conversation evolved from a simple pitch into an extensive brainstorming session, with the pair fleshing out everything from zombie behavior and contestant rules to production logistics and prize structure.

The concept also shares similarities with MrBeast’s upcoming thriller novel, The Most Dangerous Games, which he co-wrote with bestselling author James Patterson.

Set to release on September 1, the book follows 100 contestants competing in a deadly global competition for the chance to save humanity and win a $1 billion prize, marking another major project built around high-stakes survival challenges.
