It’s been a great time to be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber lately, with the stealth release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Remastered and the day-one release of RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
The good times will continue once May rolls around, since DOOM: The Dark Ages will be available in the month as a day-one release along with other smaller titles. But did you know there’s also one interesting game releasing in June for members that has the Xbox community buzzing?
Xbox Game Pass Members Call This June Day-One Release as Looking "Amazing"
The Xbox Game Pass subreddit has a thread now about The Alters, a sci-fi game that’s something you probably haven’t played before. The sci-fi title that blends survival with a base-building game in development by 11 bit Studios (Frostpunk, This War of Mine) that’s due for release on June 13.
The thread, «The Alters (coming in June) look amazing,» has the thread starter stating, «I know we all have too many good games to play, but we better get ready for more while we are at it. This game sounds amazing. It’s from 11 Bit (frost punk and this war of mine dev), and it looks like it might be their best game yet. Anyone else psyched for this one?»
It’s important to note that The Alters will only be available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, meaning you’ll need to cough up $20 a month to play it for «free» alongside other titles.
If you’re unfamiliar with The Alters, I don’t blame you. Save for one of its trailers, I haven’t heard much of it either, though I think that will change in the coming weeks.
The game’s premise, according to 11 bit Studios, is «Explore an emotional sci-fi game with a unique blend of survival, adventure, and base-building elements. Help Jan Dolski—the sole survivor of an ill-fated space expedition—create alternative versions of himself to escape a hostile planet and tackle personal turmoils with this unconventional crew.»
The Alters will launch on June 13 on Xbox Game Pass and will also be released on PS5 and PC the same day.
