In the surprising child s-xual abuse case development of Timothy Busfield, the co-star of Kevin Costner from his 1989 film, Field of Dreams, has become a lot more complex. According to TMZ, the actor now claims that these charges are being put against him in a revenge plot by the children’s mother without credible evidence.

As stated by him, due to an executive decision to take the two child actors who have been allegedly abused by Busfield out of the show, The Cleaning Lady, their mother has now thrown fake allegations at the star. Busfield had previously directed the series on multiple occasions.

The Brief History of Tim Busfield’s Child Abuse Allegations

The allegations against Timothy Busfield of two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse became public just recently, when a warrant was released for the star’s arrest on January 9(via Entertainment Weekly).

According to the warrant issued by the authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it claims that Busfield allegedly inappropriately touched the young boys, 7 and 8 at the time, in their private areas on several occasions. The problem was first brought up after a doctor looked over the case in 2024, and in 2025, the case was brought up to the authorities.

The mother of these child actors claimed that the alleged abuse and grooming by Busfield was carried out between November 2022 to Spring 2024. And after the police and a counsellor went over this last year, a warrant was issued on January 9, 2026, for Busfield’s arrest.

Timothy Busfield’s involvement in the series stems from his role as an executive producer of The Cleaning Lady, as well as being a director of episodes on several occasions. These include 1 episode in Season 2, 3 episodes in Season 3, and 2 episodes in Season 4 (via IMDb).
