Released in September, Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny is a bit of a treat for kids wanting their first taste of an action RPG. Colourful and easy to play, but still offering a bit of a challenge for those who want it, it’s the ideal game for RPG-loving adults to play with their kids. And there’s good news for Switch 2 owners, as a native version is coming to Nintendo’s brand new console very soon.
On 5th December, Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny will be getting a new Nintendo Switch 2 version, available both digitally and physically. Of course, the game is already fully playable on Switch 2 thanks to the original Switch version, but this native release will feature a suite of improvements. The best news of all? It’s absolutely free if you already own the Switch version of the game.
Players can look forward to improved resolution (1240p) and an increased frame rate of 60FPS. It will also have improved lighting, better particle effects, and anti-aliasing, amongst other tweaks and improvements. In other words, it’s going to look and play a lot better on Switch 2 than it currently does.
If you already own Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny on Switch, you don’t need to do anything: simply download the new version of the game when it becomes available on 5th December. And if you don’t? Perhaps it’s worth considering picking up. We were impressed with the game in our review, calling it a “surprisingly good take on the ARPG genre”. We went on to say, “filled with familiar Nickelodeon characters, and packed with humour (and loot!), there’s a lot to like.”
