Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
A talented Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 player has created a mod that lets you camp anywhere in the world, fixing the annoying loop of having to travel back to a bed every time you want to rest up.
Although it’s nowhere near as brutal as the original game that started it all, one of the best things about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is how little it holds your hand as you figure out medieval life as Henry. For the most part, that results in a uniquely challenging and realistic RPG, but I’d be lying if I said the grind doesn’t get a little monotonous over time.
Perhaps the biggest example of this in my playtime is the struggle to find a bed to sleep in so that you can easily heal your wounds without resorting to potions or expensive bathhouses. In the early hours, this can prove to be expensive, or involve a lot of travelling back and forth to areas where you know you can have a kip.

That pain is one that PC players might not have to face anymore thanks to an expansive mod that’s been created by Nexus Mods user dannjb. As pointed out by PC Gamer, the mod lets you set up your own «authentic personal campsites» anywhere in the world, and is meant to increase the game’s already immersive RPG elements.
That being said, having access to a camp at any time surely also means that you can rest and heal whenever you want and not have to worry so much about beds. Why spend Groschen on an inn or work hard at a quest that’ll give you somewhere to sleep when you can just roll out a mat and look up at the stars? Comfiness be damned, that sounds a lot more immersive to me.
If you want the full camping experience, dannjb recommends pairing this mod with the Cooking Mod and Nutrition Mod to really get that wilderness experience.
Beyond the obvious benefits of sleeping anywhere, the mod is rather impressive in its own right, as it adds a campfire, tent, and bed that all have their own tier system from basic and standard to fancy. The mod’s creator says that it’s not really meant for those wanting constant stat boosts or access to their stash and is more for immersion, but it seems like the mod can do both at once if you want it to.
