A home in Maine is getting attention online for several political signs displayed around its front yard and driveway. Two expressed support for immigrants and opposition to ICE, but a third seemingly unrelated sign reading “No turning in driveway” quickly became the focus of commenters who saw irony in the combination.

According to a video shared by TikTok user @zackdelarouda, who filmed the home while driving past, one sign read, “Keep the immigrants. Deport the racists.” Another said, “Abolish ICE. Keep families together.”
A short distance away was another sign that read, “No turning in driveway.” That’s the one many people couldn’t get past.
In the comment section, several viewers seized on what they considered an ironic contradiction between the political signs and the homeowner’s request that drivers stay out of the driveway.
“Liberalism in a nutshell. Lofty big picture sentiments but zero personal contribution,” one commenter wrote. Another said sarcastically, “It’s almost as if they expect you to respect THEIR border.” A third joked, “All are welcome except in my driveway.” A fourth remarked, “Democrats do love a hefty dose of irony.”
Some took the criticism even further. One claimed, “They’re always giant hypocrites.” Someone else mocked, “Love everyone unless they disagree with me.”
Others joked about pulling into the homeowner’s driveway just to prove a point. One netizen wrote, “Oh I’m DEFINITELY turning around in that driveway,” while another said, “I’d simply run over the do not turn around sign.” A third commented, “There are no borders on stolen driveways.”
Not everyone saw a contradiction. Some viewers argued that asking strangers not to use a private driveway has little to do with someone’s position on immigration policy. “Conservatives love this as a gotcha moment when there’s zero correlation,” one commenter wrote.
The signs reflect the broader political divide surrounding the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, particularly its expanded ICE operations. While supporters argue aggressive enforcement is necessary to uphold immigration laws, critics have protested the administration’s tactics and their impact on immigrant families.
Whether the signs actually contradict each other depends on who’s reading them. But for thousands of viewers, a simple request to stay out of one Maine driveway became an irresistible punchline in a much bigger fight over America’s borders.
