The Character Is a Playful Version of Venom
In a recent article on the popular cartoon Spidey and His Amazing Friends, The Wrap confirmed that Marvel character Symbie is coming to the hit show. Symbie is a diminutive member of Venom’s alien ‘symbiote’ species, only recently introduced to Marvel lore in the comics.
Executive producer Harrison Wilcox confirmed Symbie will appear in an (unspecified) upcoming episode, and that parents don’t need to worry about his similarities to Venom. Wilcox assures fans that Symbite is «just a little scamp, a shapeshifter [who] just likes to run around and cause trouble.»
Symbie has been described as Marvel’s version of Disney’s Stitch or Star Wars‘ Grogu — a mischievous but good-natured character with childlike attributes. However, as a symbiote, Symbie can warp and shift its body in a huge variety of ways, which promises to make for some fun adventures.
Our Take on Symbie's TV Debut
Symbie was only recently introduced to Marvel lore in 2025’s Amazing Spider-Man #11 (ing a cameo in 2024’s Timeslide #1), created by Joe Kelly and Pepe Larraz. Symbie was one of several aliens captured by evil xenobiologist Xanto Starblood and freed by Peter Parker, becoming a member of Spider-Man’s crew for his adventures through space.
Symbie is an odd character in terms of the symbiote species. In Venom lore, symbiotes don’t really have a ‘childhood’ phase, instead using their host’s memories and personality to instantly gestate to adulthood. Likewise, symbiotes can survive only a very short amount of time without a host, which Symbie doesn’t appear to have.

Symbie really hasn’t been around long enough for fans to know much about him yet, though he does have an adorable dog form as of Marvel Mutts Infinity Comic.
Fans don’t yet know the exact episode in which Symbie will join Spidey and His Amazing Friends, but Marvel fans can look forward to the family-friendly Spider-Man show getting its own version of Venom sometime soon.
